‘Leaf’ it to the experts: New bionic leaf gets to the root of the problem

News has been circulating this week of an incredible new way to make biofuel: the bionic leaf.

The bionic leaf is a system developed by Harvard researchers that aims to reverse some of the damage caused by fossil fuels by utilizing carbon dioxide to create clean biofuel. Talk about a win-win.

Although it looks nothing like a leaf, the bionic leaf gets its name from how it converts energy into fuel using a process that mimics photosynthesis in plants. The current bionic leaf is an update on previous models developed by the same Harvard researchers. With its ability to clean up some emissions in a cost-effective way, while simultaneously producing fuel, the Leaf may one day fuel your car.
